Day 24

Technically I didn't take this picture.  Dave did with his phone.  Would that be considered cheating?  But I had to post it.  Its Amanda wearing the Moose Head of shame at Montana's last night, she stood on a chair so the whole restaurant could see her, and we all sang the Birthday Song.  She was thoroughly embarrassed, but a good sport about it.

Day 19, 20, 21, 22

Whew, it has been a busy weekend.  Turned on my computer for the first time since before the weekend.  It was Amanda's birthday weekend, we had a birthday sleepover Fri-Sat, to Milton celebrate the 50th birthday for one of Dave's employees, and Sunday was a visit by my in-laws, today the house cleared temporarily until the contractor arrived to finish up cleaning up the mould and put the wall back together in the basement where the kitchen sink caused extensive water damage.  But I did take pictures throughout all of this, just haven't had a chance to post them until now.

Day 19 - Dalwhinnie surveying the territory, making sure all is secure.

Day 20 - Birthday candle blowout

Day 21 - Scotch tasting 101.  Dave's parents were over to celebrate Amanda's birthday and to taste some very expensive Scotch.  Bottle on the left is Cardhu, that is the bottle they took home with them.  Bottle on the left was a Christmas present Dave and the rest of the company partners received.  That there is a $400 bottle of Scotch, Dave had the jitters opening that bottle.  I had a wee taste, and still can't stand Scotch, still tastes like a barrel to me.

Day 22 -  Managed to work on some art journalling today for a course I am taking via Brave Girls Club

Day 17 and 18

Day 17, took this yesterday after we had a water damage specialist check out why we were having water leaking in our basement.  We thought it was a crack in the foundation.  Turns out, it was the kitchen sink drain leaking, while inspecting the wall he also noticed that what was suppose to be the vent for the sink, was actually capped off, obviously not doing what it was suppose.  And it might be hard to see behind the tarp, I am not removing it, you can see all black mould going down the wall.  He comes back tomorrow to repair the drain, rip all the studs and insulation etc, off the wall, remove the mould and put in  new studs and insulation.  Just one more plumbing drama that has been an ongoing issue in this house.  You can read about the previous drama which involved the kids bathroom HERE.

Day 18, took this picture just now in the backyard.  We had a line of snow squalls come through today and the kids are excited about the snow and hoping it will actually stay for the rest of the season, keeping our fingers crossed.  Our Adirondack chairs are waiting for spring.

Days 15 and 16

Our challenge this week is to take pictures of what we eat with out cellphones.

Day 15, gotta love Starbucks.  My lunch from there was a tea and a thai tuna wrap, ate the wrap before taking a picture.  LOL  Picture was taken using the Hipstamatic app on my iphone.

Day 16, my dinner tonight, toasted coconut and sesame seed crusted cod pieces baked in the oven with a salad.  Yummo.  Regular camera app on my iphone.

Days 11, 12, 13, and 14

Busy few days around here.  Turned my computer on for the first time today in about 3 days.  Ugh.  Here are some more photos for Project 365.  Nothing fancy, life has been crazy.

Day 11, these boots are made for walking

Day 12, found my old film camera while purging the furnace room.  I am not sure where to get film for it any more.  Anybody interested in buying, also has a Tamron zoom lens.

Day 13, while I was purging the card box, lots of memories in there, I had a helper who decided she wanted to curl up right beside me.  LOL

Day 14, while purging the card box this weekend I came across this card given to me by my dear friend Laurie, months before she passed away, seeing this card brought back a flood of memories.

Project 365 Day 8

Day 8, also the first day back to school around here after a two week holiday break.  And Dalwhinnie was moping and pouting around the house because all the fun people i.e. the kids, are gone.  She was left with little ol' me, and frankly I can be rather boring, what with doing laundry, dishes, etc and most of all I give her baths when she has dug up a spot in the yard.  So yeah, I felt sorry for her and I felt I needed to move my butt, it was a well fed holiday break after all, so I decided to take Dalwhinnie for a walk.  She loves her walks, the smells, meeting new people, marking her territory throughout the neighbourhood.  Good times.  What she does hate is her Halti, which is a necessary requirement on a walk since she like to rip my back apart pulling.  Usually the routine of our excursions start off with "woohoo!!! we are going for a walk, I am so excited" attitude from Dalwhinnie, followed by a little chase around the living room coffee table because "I don't want to wear that thing. No!!!  It itches my face"  But the thrill of an excursion out the front door wins every time and she finally succumbs to the Halti, but not without a little attitude as the picture shows.  LOL  And as soon as we are out the door and on our way, she is a happy camper.  Dogs!!!

Project 365 Day 7

Today Dave and I started purging the furnace room, the room that stuff that has no home goes, stuff we aren't sure what to do with.  We seem to have a crack in the foundation with some water once in a while getting into the room.  In order to get to said crack in the foundation, we need to clear some crap.  LOL   Our front hallway is full of the fruits of our purging, including some aspects of Christmas past that we no longer want or need in our decor.

Project 365 Day 6

Two postings in one day.  I do believe that is a blog record for me.

Tonight Daniel was playing with his remote control helicopter and one of the games we play is to have him land the helicopter on our hands.  I managed to get a shot of it landing on Amanda's hand, to me it seems to be an electronic butterfly with the coloured lights.

Project 365 Day 5

A little late in posting this, but this picture was taken last night with my camera phone.  I was at Denise's for a Stampin Up team meeting, and Denise always makes these meetings fun. With serious business talk of course, we also have games, make n takes, show n share etc.  My kind of a business meeting where there is laughter, love, and inspiration, not a stuffy board room where EVERYTHING is sooooo serious and dry.  The theme was "Tea Party" last night as Stampin Up launched their new occasions mini Jan. 1 and they have the cutest tea party stamp set and accessories.  I had to get a shot of the all tea cups and the napkins Denise folded oh so neatly and wrapped with decorative bands made with Stampin Up product of course.  I left the meeting rejuvenated and inspired for some upcoming challenges Denise has given us.  Time to get my creative juices flowing in the studio after a crazy busy month of December.

Project 365 Day 3 and 4

Today is a 2 for 1 day.  I was too busy yesterday to turn on my computer and upload the photos.  One of those days, can't wait for next week, back to normal.  Sigh.

Day 3, I took this picture of Daniel's toy steam engine wheel, slow down the shutter speed to give the sense of movement.

Day 4, is Happiness is a New Favourite Toy.  Today was my errand day, and I brought Dalwhinnie home a new toy, a big ball of yarn.  She use to have another one, and it was her favourite toy ever, she would greet you at the door with it, and just walk around with it in her mouth just because.  Then she ripped it apart a few weeks ago, today I picked her up a new one at the store, she was thrilled.

Project 365 Day 1

I am starting this new blog for the Project 365 that I am doing via Picablog.  For Christmas Dave really really spoiled me with a new Canon EOS 7D and a photography course later this month to learn how to use this new fabulous camera.  And I am thinking that doing Project 365 will help me expand my photography skills over the course of the year and document my life on a daily basis.  The theme this is week is "Goodbye Holidays".  And the technique this week is the bokeh technique, which can you learn about on their blog here.  I have yet to experiment with the bokeh technique, I hope to be able to play around with my porch Christmas lights some evening this week.  Right now we have a series of lake effect snow squalls and flurries going on, might have to wait a day or two for the weather to clear.  Joys of winter in Ontario.

So, here is my Day 1 photo.  Bumblebee's head ornament that Daniel received from his godfather, Greg.  My tradition is when I take the Holiday Decorations down, I take photos of all the new tree ornaments we received over the holidays.  My hope is to do a book for each child with photos and stories behind each ornament they have.  Back to the picture, I love how the his eyes light up when you press the button to hear the sound effects. I tried to capture the glow of the eyes as best as I could.
